Application of Agent Technology in Web Based Data Warehouse within Bidding Decision System of Power Supplier

In order to provide enough information to power plant during its bidding decision, the Web based data warehouse is gradually applied in power plant's bidding system. In present Web based data warehouse there are a lot of defects to be improved, for this reason it is proposed to apply Agent technology in Web based data warehouse during the bidding decision of power plants. Firstly, as for the important problem that how to extract useful data from Web page and integrate them into data warehouse, a method is given which transfers HTML page into data source of XML by use of Agent technology. Using this method the Web data can be transferred into the data source of data warehouse, so the superiority of integrating data warehouse technology with Web technology can be fully brought into play. The authors also research the application of Agent technology in whole architecture of Web based data warehouse and give an implementation scheme of an Agent function module, thus an effective method to establish a flexible and efficient Web data warehouse for power plant bidding decision system is formed. The effectiveness of the proposed method is illustrated by a practical example.
