Design of a new low temperature coefficient and process compensated current reference source

Xuan Ke Zhao · Journal of Hefei University of Technology · 2010

Current reference is a very important module in analog and mixed circuits. In this paper,a high precision current reference source is designed.Several resistors and tripolar transistors are added to traditional Proportional to Absolute Temperature(PTAT) current circuit, which enhances proportional action coefficient. Then it is linked with an all MOSFET circuit of inverse proportional to absolute temperature. So,a current reference is achieved, which is independent of process, voltage and temperature, with little area increases only. The circuit is implemented by CSMC-0.5 μm process, and the output current is 100 μA with 36×10-6/℃ as the temperature is between-20 ℃ and 100 ℃.
