Analysis of μClinux Memory Management

Shuxian Li · Ordnance Industry Automation · 2006

Management of μClinux adopted the nonstandard model of Linux memory. There are no interspaces among the code segment, data segment and stack segment; furthermore, every process has no private heap, so all processes share heap segment, which is managed by OS. The mmap function allocates memory from memory pooling in core idles to realize the simplest malloc. The storage paging management was used in system. The storage pages were assigned to memory by system when it started, and procedure pages were loaded when procedure was used.
