An Analysis of Consistency in the Ontology Evolution Based on OWL

Ontology evolution is very important in the application domain of ontology. In the process of the ontology evolution, a mayor problem is how to maintain the consistency of the ontology. In this paper, the author introduces ontology model M(O) based on OWL, and analyzes the structural consistency, the logical consistency and the user-defined consistency. It also introduces strategies to maintain consistency of the ontology during the process of the ontology evolution.
