Autonomism, Reductionism and Algorithmism
Guo Lei · 2004
There are two viewpoints on the subject of knowledge and explanation of the relationship between the biology and physical science, and they are opposed on the and the explanation's mode, and all of the discussions about the and the explanation's mode can be attributed to explaining about the phenomenon of evolution. It is viewpoint of reductionism to interpret the process of evolution into a axiomatization and a dynamic process. However, this algorithm explanation suffered to a great puzzledom of complexity. The powerful computer and emulation programme were the breakthrough in the puzzledom, and it was a moment that J.Conway proved that the Cell Automata is equal to Turing Machine to lead to the algorithm's understanding about life process, and turn out Algorithmism. Algorithmism possesses Reductionism's color, but not entirely supports Reductionism and weakens the viewpoint actually. It is by reason that the computability of emergence is different to the predictivability.
