Overview and Analysis of Research on Standards and Specifications of Simulation VV&A

VVA (Verification, Validation and Accreditation) is the basis of credibility evaluation of MS(modeling and simulation), which is indispensable to MS. VVA standardization is of great importance to promotion of VVA. An overview of current VVA standards and specifications was proposed including Department of Defense RPG (Recommended Practice Guides) serials, IEEE1278.4, THALES JP 11.20 REVVA project, ITOP VV project, SISO VVA Overlay project and MSG-019/TG-016 project, and then VVA roles definition, VVA processes definition and kernel ideas and methodology were compared among these work. Finally, the characteristic, interrelation, development direction and reference of these standards and specifications were analyzed.
