Cluster-Based Query Expansion for XML Retrieval

Huang Zi-yue · Dianzi Ke-ji Daxue xuebao · 2009

XML document is a semi-structured data. It contains the structural information that can be an effective solution to the issues in traditional information retrieval, such as the ambiguity of natural language. However, the problem of poor queries has not been resolved. In this paper, a query expansion technology in XML Information Retrieval based on clustering is presented. Clustering is used to extract the feature of the search results and obtain a query that is a more comprehensive reflection of user’s query intent. The recall rate and precision can be improved.
