Long or Short Block Conversion Algorithm in MP3 Coding

In the process of MP3 encoding,Perceptual Entropy is used to decide the criterion of long or short block.However,misidentification would occur easily by this method.Therefore,an algorithm in time domain to decide the occasion of long or short block.This algorithm can decide the occurrence of the transient in time domain precisely,and decrease the probability of misidentification of the short block.The analyzed results confirm that the proposed algorithm can increase quality of the audio after MP3 encoding.
