NON-UNIFORM BSPLINE REPRESENTATION FOR SECOND PHASE GRAIN CONTOUR IN COMPOSITE

The important role of contour factorization in the 3-dimensional reconstruction of composite is discussed. Based on the closed contour of a ceramic composite grain obtained by using the wavelet and edge linking techniques, a reasonable acquired method for the value of the characteristic points of the material grain contour was investigated according to the contour′s curvature. A novel representation of material grain contour was proposed by using the non-uniform cubic Bspline curve interpolation to form a mathematically described contour. The algorithm includes four steps: accumulate the chord length parameterized characteristic points; decide the knot vector; calculate the control vertex and calculate the points on the Bspline curve by the De Boor method. The structure of the FeAlZrO_ 2 composite (40% volume fraction of Fe_ 3 Al) thermal etched at 1250℃ was investigated by scanning electron microscopy. Choosing an Fe_ 3 Al grain as the research objective, the factorization representation of a grain contour was obtained on a VC++. Net platform.
