Customized fault-tolerant computer is costly,hard to develop and has poor scalability.Based on COTS com- ponents and separation of fault-tolerance and applications,a kind of architecture of generic highly reliable cost-effective fault-tolerant computer is proposed and implemented.In order to increase the observability and controllability of the in- ternal states of COTS,an intelligent fault-tolerance management module is devised.
