Principle of Compositionality in Logic Semantics

L Zhang · 2014

The principle of compositionality is the fundamental concept in logical semantics. There are two main notions in the application of the principle: the first one is the parts of the compound expression and their meanings; and the second one is the semantic operation that makes the combine of the meanings of parts to be the meaning of the compound expression. By sticking to the principle of compositionality,we can make adjustments to the former theories that disobey the principle and promote the development of logical semantics.
