Common Plant Diseases and Insect Pests of the Fengxiang Strawberries and Their Prevention and Treatment

According to the study of the Fengxiang strawberries in Shaoguan from 1998 to 2001,the diseases of Fengxiang strawberries planted in the booths can be classified into the following groups:fungous diseases including powdery mildew,gray mold,anthracnose,leaf spot, Verticillium wilt, etc;virus diseases including SmoV, SMYEV,SVBV,SCrV,etc;insect pests including strawberries spider mite, strawberries aphid tobacco cutworm etc.Years of practice has proved that some methods are effective to prevent and treat the diseases and insect pests, such as improving the soil, planting on tall ridge,rotating properly,choosing the seedlings without diseases and disease resistant breeds ,disinfecting the soil,planting in rational density,controlling nitrogenous fertilizer, cleaning the field, using medicines, and so on.
