A Modified Method for Concepts Similarity Calculation

Ontology has been considered as an important theoretical basis in many areas such as information integration, semantic Web and knowledge management. The purpose of ontology mapping is to find the relationship between the concepts by calculating the concepts similarity and to develop appropriate mapping rules.Based on the study of the ontology mapping methods,an integrated similarity calculation model is designed. In this model, information that affects the similarity calculation, such as the instances of the concept, the definition of concept and the hierarchical structure relationship are fully considered.Users can enable the model common to all the ontology by changing the three similarity weight values to adapt to the mapping between different ontologies. The results show that it can embody the relationship between concepts more effectively, and make the ontology mapping method more comprehensive and more applicable.
