Application of High-frequency GPS Data in Seismology by Using Precise Point Positioning Method

Song Guohua · South China Journal of Seismology · 2013

Using the PANDA software provided by Wuhan University and non-difference precision positioning method, this article processed high frequency GPS data, and done a comparative analysis of the coseismic effects of several earthquakes with different magnitude and epicentral distance, which recorded by high-frequency GPS data and seismograph data. The results show that GPS can be good for measuring seismic signals, have a certain reflection on permanent displacement of the surface. So it can be developed to become a new GPS seismometer.High-frequency GPS data have stronger ability in capturing earthquakes with large magnitude and focal depth, and it can play a complementary role for strong motion seismograph. But its accuracy and precessing model of software should be further improved.
