Reduction of Ontology Based on User Concept View

Since an ontology is a formal, explicit specification of a shared conceptualization, it will get incredibly huge in size and complex in structure as the work evolves. Meanwhile, for specific agents or groups, their job requirement may only deal with a small part of the ontology. This mismatch between overall requirement and specific desirability will hinder the application of ontology. There have been some researches on the extraction of sub-ontology from a global one. But most of them require not only human interference but also an ontology engineer that should have sufficient background knowledge. This paper proposes an algorithm focusing on the ontology extraction and simplification for specific agents.
