Focusing on weakening the effect of illumination to color image,an illumination compensation method based on HSV transform and homomorphic filtering is proposed.Firstly, the image is transformed from the RGB color space to the HSV color space, and the Gauss high pass filtering function is introduced into homomorphic filtering to design a new dynamic Gauss homomorphism filter. Then the luminance component of the HSV color space is carried on enhancement processing in the frequency range, while the hue and the saturation maintain invariable.By enhancing the image detail and reducing low frequency component, the image quality drop caused by illumination variation is relieved. Finally, the illumination compensation of color image is achieved.Experimental analysis demonstrates that the proposed method, which can weaken illumination effect and improve color image quality,is more effective to illumination compensation than conventional Gauss high filtering and Gamma correction.
