An algorithm of background extraction and update in video surveillance

An improved algorithm based on frame-difference and background subtraction is proposed for obtaining a high-quality background image from complex scene.The current frame and the original image,which is the background from frame-difference to distinguish pixels between foreground and background,is compared and then weight averaged in order to obtain the background image,which is selectively updated while background updating.The improved algorithm has strong adaptability to different scenarios.
