As to the removal of the short fibre and the neps in contradiction to the long fibre loss in the process of combing,introduction is made to the cause of the fibre loss in the process of combing,and the damage property of the fibre.The law of the short fibre increase is porbed into.Conclusion is made that short fibre increase is mainly due to the irregular distribution of the fibre with landscape orientation plus the inner damage of the fibre and the forced carding.It is true that the short fibre increase and long fibre loss can not be avoided,yet under control.So long as some measures are taken,the short fibre increase and the long fibre loss can be both under control with good cost and quality balance.
