Pupil Segmentation Based on the Min-cross Threshold Method on Histograms

The detection of pupil boundary is a key problem in the iris texture extraction.In this paper,a new and simple algorithm for the location of the iris inner boundary was put forward.This method fixed on the gray-level threshold for pupil segmentation by finding the pupil gray-level range,based on the gray-level histogram of the iris image,and located the iris inner boundary using gray-level projection.The results of experiment proved that the proposed algorithm can be used to locate the iris inner boundary exactly.
