Geo-Hazard and Prevention for Ertan—Zigong 500 kV Transmission Lines

Sheng Da-kai · Electric Power Construction · 2010

The 500 kV Ertan-Zigong Power Transmission Project is of great significance to the Ertan Hydropower Station. It is located in a high-altitude region with adverse natural environment and complex geological conditions.Especially in the Liangshang section,Landslides and mudflows take place frequently, which has affected the safety and normal operation of the transmission lines, and has resulted in enormous economic losses. On the basis of detailed investigation on the condition of geo-hazard along the transmission lines,a comprehensive analysis on the causes of the geo-hazard was made, and some lessons were drawn from the prevention of geo-hazard.The reasons for the geo-hazard occurring along the Ertan-Zigong Transmission Lines are various, and worth paying attention to for the construction of UHV transmission lines in the same geographic location.
