Virtual Private Network Technology in Power Information Network

This paper analyzes the importance of information network to power enterprise management and the necessity of using virtual private network(VPN) technology to build information network.In view of the technical principle of VPN,how to use VPN technology to build information network is presented.VPN product selection,network topology and configuration are dealt with combined with examples.VPN technology allows the internal information of agencies in power sector to be transmitted across public network.Using public information network to set up VPN can provide a cost-effective network infrastructure for power enterprises,thus achieving the requirement of expanding information network economically and rapidly for electric power enterprises.
