Research of an application-level multicasting technique

The present multicasting protocols all neglect the asymmetry of link cost in establishing share multicasting tree.For this reason,a tree-building algorithm based on source end is presented.A set of multicasting protocols relating to the algorithm that support the lightweight application are designed and realized.Also,an application-level multicast chat program based on the multicasting protocol is successfully developed.The experimental results in the campus-wide Ethernet show that this multicast algorithm is available and can efficiently support the small-scale multicasting communication.
