An Evaluation Metrics of IP Network Packet Reordering Based on the Probability Density Function
Bin Zeng · Computer Engineering and Science · 2005
At present the study on packet behaviors only focuses on measurement metrics such as packet delay and packet loss. Few people make in-depth study on how to evaluate packet reordering and there is also no precise and complete metrics for packet reordering. For measuring packet reordering, this paper puts forward an evaluation metric based on the probability density function which can quantitatively measure the degree of packet reordering. In the end, by measuring and analyzing packet reordering of the link in CERNET, we preliminarily summarize the behavior characteristics of packet reordering.
