Modeling of Salvaging Submarine Cables by the Towing Anchor
Zeng Zhao-lei · Electric Wire & Cable · 2009
During the operation of salvaging submarine telecommunication and optic fiber cables(hereafter referred to as submarine cables),success of the salvage operation depends on conformity of the mechanical strength of the components of the salvaging system with the submarine salvage requirements and the accurate location of the salvaging anchor.A mathematical model was established by force analysis of the salvage operation by towing anchor,by which the stress of the components of the salvaging system was obtained and the towing anchor was properly located. This model can provide guidance for configuration of the salvaging system and execution of the salvaging operation.
