Analysis of principle and practicality of hard disk system area virtualization technology

To improve the hard disk firmware repair success rate and simplify the workflow,the basic working principles of the hard drive firmware and the basic structure of the hard disk system area are analyzed,the concepts of the traditional technologies,including module replacement,backup system area replacement,module remapping and hot swapping,are introduced.Then the principles of the hard disk system area virtualization technology and the details of operation are described.Based on theses,a full range of comparison between this new technology and the traditional technologies is carried out.Finally,the advantages and practicality of this technology in routine data recovery business are demonstrated by a series of comparative experiments.
