Objective To discuss the influence of hyperbaric oxygen therapy(HBOT)on brain-stem auditory evoked potential(BAEP) in patients with posterior circulatory system ischemia, and to explore the value of HBOT.Methods Forty patients with posterior circulatory system ischemia were divided randomly into HBOT group(n=20) and control group(n=20).All were given the same conventional therapy, but HBOT group were given HBOT in addition, and then data of peak latency(PL) and inter-peak latency(IPL) of BAEP graphics were observed. Results There was no significant difference in abnormal rate of BAEP between HBOT group and control before treatment(P0.05),but there was after treatment(P0.05).No significant difference was noted in PL and IPL between the two before treatment(P0.05),but it was found after treatment(P0.01).Conclusion BAEP is greatly improved in HBOT in patients with posterior circulatory system ischemia.
