Wireless sensor network(WSN) is mainly powered by limited batteries. Its life cycle is determined by the power. The energy consumption is embodied by the protocol of medium access control. How to reduce the energy consumption is the key to the application of the wireless sensor network. This paper analyzes the power consumption oriented MAC protocols of WSN through decreasing data stream, increasing sleeping time and collision avoidance respectively.Draw a conclusion that we should think over all the MAC protocol together.
