Application of Workflow Technology in Digital Forestry Grid

Some applications in digital forestry are data-flow driven. However,no efficient supported environment for data-flow driven applications exists in forestry. In project of digital forestry grid,a workflow-based infrastructure for digital forestry grid that supports data-flow driven application is designed. Some applications are also developed based on this platform. This paper describes the design and features of WIFG (workflow-based infrastructure for forestry grid). Finally,a specific application of planning for converting cropland to forest is introduced to illustrate how to use this system for rapid development.
