The semantic Web is the W3C’s vision of the next generation Web. Ontology, as an essential element, is very important. Web ontology languages which are used to define and instantiate Web ontologies, especially OWL designed by W3C, will play a crucial role. This paper discusses the design and implementation of an ontology-based information processing system, and analyses the advantages of this system: extensibility, flexibility of query and logically reasoning.
