It is very important that the STL model is sliced in the RP pre -process.The running speed and efficiency of slice software pla y an important role in Rapid Prototype.A new algorithm based on edge is presented in this paper on the basis o f the current algorithm and a slice so ftware is developed.It is proved the algorithm is very efficient on the sp eed of slice.
