Pragmatic function of hedges of argumentation under the Cooperative Principle

Hedge is an important English rhetoric.Therefore,knowing its pragmatic function and skillfully using it in argumentation will play key role in improving argumentation writing.Based on Grice's Cooperative Principle,this paper uses Halliday's metafunction theory to analyses pragmatic function of hedges of argumentation.
