Corpus-based Analysis of lead of Hard News from Syntactic Aspects

This article tries to analyze the syntactic features of news leads which are collected from the English newspaper China Daily.By running the FOXPRO program and the application of the SPSS statistic tool,the author tries to analyze from the following aspects: sentence length,sentence structure,tense,voice,appositive etc..
