Standardization Status of Semantic Web Knowledge Processing Technologies

There are four kinds of technologies,namely knowledge representation,querying,reasoning and updating,for semantic knowledge processing.Semantic knowledge representation utilizes OWL language, which is based on RDF(S)and XML.The knowledge querying languages,including RQL、SPARQL、OWL-QL、OWL SAIQL,overcome disadvantages of conventional keyword search system and make it possible to query by semantic of keyword.Described in semantic knowledge reasoning languages,such as DLP、RuleML,and SWRL,the rule system on the semantic web lays the foundation for knowledge mining,finding and validating on the semantic web.The knowledge updating technologies,such as SPARQL/Update language,make it possible to update the knowledge on the semantic web.Dynamic updating in contents,systematization in structure and man-machine cooperation knowledge processing are the three main developing trends of standardization in semantic web knowledge processing technologies.
