QoS Based Adaptive Congestion Control Scheme in Wireless Multi-Hop Networks
Wang Dian-qing · Jisuanji fangzhen · 2008
The proposed quality of service (QoS) based congestion control scheme in wireless multi-hop networks realized congestion control and QoS guarantee from two aspects. On one aspect, congestion control and QoS guarantee are conducted through controlling the routing request process. The routing request controlling scheme selects the route with short delay for real-time services and selects the route with long delay for non-real-time services. On the other aspect, to control congestion and guarantee QoS, the channel access probability of congested node is increased by reducing the forwarding traffic of the congested node's neighbors according to the QoS level. Successful route discovering probability, end-to-end delay and packet lost ratio models were established. Performance analyses were done with these models. The performance analyses and the simulation results show that the proposed scheme can control congestion and guarantee QoS of real-time services effectively.
