Effects of FM linearity on the performance of LFM signals

Liang Dian-nong · Systems engineering and electronics · 2005

The effects of FM linearity on LFM signals are studied based on deramp and pulse-compression processing. It is shown that higher FM linearity is needed with the increase of the sinal bandwith and decrease of the frequency of phase error. With the same paired sidebands, twice FM linearity is needed by using deramp processing method compared with pulse-compression processing method. The simulation result proves the conclusions.
