Image Coding with Directional Wavelet Transform Based on Greedy Algorithm of Multitree Segmentation

A new image coding method was proposed.In order to suffciently take advantage of local directionality of natural images,we adopted directional wavelet transform and greedy algorithm for suboptimal multitree tiling.Meanwhile we utilized empirical R-D formula as the greedy criterion.The results indicate that our method performs better in coding gain and visual quality.
