To solve the problems of storage inefficiency and poor retrieval performance when storing video data through a file system,a dedicated solution that enabled high storage efficiency and second-level search of video data based on the bare disk device was proposed. To avoid the blocking phenomenon in the concurrent writing of multiple video streams, the single-threaded nonblocking I/O multiplexing technology andping-pong bufferingmechanism were used in the proposed approach. To solve the problem of clock drifting of stream media transfer server in the video surveillance system,a feedback positioning technology based on the two-level index was used to improve the system's fault tolerance of clock difference between servers. The system testing result shows that compared with the file system solution, the proposed approach's time consuming of record retrieval is not affected by the scale of video data, and the occurrence of obstruction can be efficiently avoided by the single-thread non-blocking I/O multiplexing technology andping-pong bufferingmechanism.
