Studies on optimum seed collecting periods of Pinus tabulaeformis

In this paper, the effect of seed collecting time of Pinus tabulaeformis on seed quality was studied.The results showed that the effect of each treatment,namely,different seed collecting time on seed quality was apparent,the difference of the weight of a thousand seeds,germination percentage and germination potential was remarkable for the treatments that was from Aug.15th to Sep.29th.From Aug.15th to Sep.14,seed quality differed remarkably,but the seeds were not up to the standard;from Sep.14th to 29th,the seeds were all up to the standards of province and state,but seed quality promoted gradually as the growing time was prolonged.It may be determined that the optimum seed collecting time was from Sep.19th to Sep.29th.
