Sound Changes in English Connected Speech and Listening Comprehension

Sound changes are common phenomena in English connected speech.Due to sound changes,words and sentences that are quite familiar to people originally sound strange,which will certainly cause obstacles in listening comprehension. Beginning with the analysis of different forms of sound changes,this paper not only discusses the influences caused by sound changes in listening comprehension and the reasons why these obstacles are formed,but also tries to suggest solutions to remove these obstacles,thus to improve listening ability.
