Test Study on Load-bearing Capacity of Mine Pine Lumber Prop
Xiushan Li · Mining Safety & Environmental Protection · 2011
Test study on the load-bearing capacity of the pine lumber prop was carried out with the pine lumber specimens, the study results showed that when the moisture content of pine prop was 19.87%~25.51%,the compressive strength parallel to its grain was 19.8~30.1MPa,an average of 24.8MPa,and the compressive strength vertical to its grain was 2.3~3.6 MPa,an average of 3.1MPa;when the moisture content was changed into 12%,the compressive strength parallel to its grain was 33.2~41.6MPa,an average of 39.2MPa,and the compressive strength vertical to its grain was 3.5~5.9 MPa,an average of 4.7MPa.The moisture content of wood was significantly related to its strength,so when pine lumber was used as pit prop,it should be tried out as far as possible, and when it was used for support in the mine,it should be kept vertical.
