Hypercube Based Application-Layer Multicast Protocol

This paper presented the design, analysis and performance evaluation of ComCast, a novel application-layer multicast protocol. This paper also conducts simulations of ComCast and another protocol HyperCast. Simulation results show that although ComCasts link stress is bigger than HyperCast, it provides smaller path stretch, higher data delivery ratio. Furthermore, ComCast achieves better fault tolerance ability by using logical links in the presence of failures; it can also provide reliable multicast by a feedback mechanism.
