Encoding and decoding research of data matrix barcode in tool direct marking

To improve the accuracy and real-time ability of tool information collection in NC workshop,a method to automatically acquire tool information is provided and realized.Based on data matrix barcode encoding principle,encoding tool information into ma-chine-reading barcode is carried out,then direct marking the barcode on a tool for real-time collecting its information is also realized.The barcode image containing the original tool information is decoded using digital image processing technology,and the result is vali-dated by the Reed-Solomon error-correcting algorithm.Experimental results show that tool information is collected effectively and ac-curately by the method mentioned above.
