Design of a Model for Optimization in Autonomic Systems

Self-optimization is an essential capability of autonomic computing systems;therefore,how to realize this capability is discussed in this paper.Performance functions provide a natural and basic framework for achieving self-optimization in autonomic computing systems.By dividing managed components in autonomic elements into resources and services,present the model of performance function,and some things about its definition are discussed.Also describe the course for optimizing the overall performance using performance functions in the environments of autonomic elements.
