In-depth Interview on Hospital Information System Construction of Wu Han City

Objective To investigate the situation of hospital information system construction of Wu Han City for improving policy making. Method Based on the previous questionnaire, 16 representative hospitals were chosen to conduct in -depth interview. Results It was found that the major problems in HIS construction in our country were lack of unified standards, mid-long stage construction plan, legislation about hospital information system, construction fund, the cognition and concept of the executives about HIS, the human resource and technique strength about HIS. The HIS construction of Wu Han City was at preliminary stage. Conclusion The leadership of hospital should paid enough attention in HIS construciton. It also should be put on the agenda to establish unified standards,increase funding input and set up expertise professional group.
