Huo Xiao-yu · 2005
For the limitation and deficiency of multicasting on VOD,this paper presents a scheme that integrates Overlay Network Multicast and Patching Algorithm for VOD.This scheme exploits the merit of Overlay Network Multicast with the characteristic of VOD and Patching stream, reducing the stress of server under good use of network resource. This paper describes the notion and clasification of Overlay Network Multicast Protocols,as well as the characteristics of Patching Algorithm. It alse analyzes the main technologic flow of this scheme such as the organization of multicast, new node joining and node leaving.
