A NOVEL BOXCAR ALGORITHM AND ITS APPLICATION IN DATA COMPRESSION

Boxcar method is used generally to compress process data with simple and good real time performance of compression and restoration. A modified boxcar method is presented to enhance its performance, and its algorithm is analyzed by offline simulation based on practical process data, which demonstrates that the modified algorithm is better than the original. The Neuron C program of the algorithm is written and downloaded into the self designed data acquisition node, online use of the modified algorithm is therefore implemented
