Application of Cloud Model Theory to the Load Frequency Control in Interconnected Power Systems

Cai Guowe · Proceedings of the CSEE · 2015

According to the uncertainty problem of load frequency control system, an adaptive PI control method of load frequency control in multi-area interconnected power system based on cloud modeling theory was proposed in this paper. A cloud model PI controller was established for load frequency control, where the area control error amount e was regarded as the former of the cloud generator, the setting valuesP and I of the PI controller were regarded as the consequent of the cloud generator. At the same time the load disturbances of different conditions were simulated by frequency domain and time domain respectively, the load frequency control of power system was realized using the could model controller to regulate the parameters of PI controller. The simulation results show that the method can effectively track the frequency deviation caused by power fluctuations and meet the indexes of load frequency control under the condition of a variety of load disturbances with stronger anti-interference and robustness, its control effect is better than that of traditional PI controller.
