Review and Prospects of Research on Operating System

This paper outlines the research work that we have done in the past fifteen years on operating system. It describes three projects in detail, those projects are microkernel research, realtime operating system research, and cc-numa multiprocessor operating system research. It also introduces hotspots in operating system research. And using virtual computing theory to solve the problems we have encountered in the operating system research. It also points out some hopeful breakthroughs in the operating system research.
