A Route Generation Algorithm for the Design of Transit Network——HEURISTIC

The paper proposed a HEURISTIC route generation algorithm for designing public transportation network, which takes advantage of the knowledge and experience of field expert, and utilizes combination optimization, aims at the maximal utilization and the balance between the most economical fee for passengers and the least operational cost for the traffic provider. This optimization method is especially useful for planners to choose suitable network un-transfer ratio and coverage ratio as restriction in light of the public traffic policies.
