Research of Terrain Following Algorithm for Low Altitude Penetration

The emergence of terrain following technology is to realize high speed and low altitude penetration of aircraft or cruse missile in modern wars. Considering the maneuverability restriction of aircraft and the need for stealthiness and security, the terrain data has to be smoothed, and the optimum reference track should be given in the process of terrain following. In this paper, terrain entropy is used in the smoothing algorithm, and a practical terrain smoothing algorithm is presented, which can reduce iterations and reduce the adjusting time efficiently. The experiment result shows its validity and smoothing practicability.
